I’ve been doing a bit of hacking on the frontend of the site today, and I’ve added a couple of new features one of which I’ve wanted for a while and one of which I needed in order to get stuff aggregated into the Planet Perl Iron Man blogging challenge.
Well, for the Planet Perl Iron Man I’ve to post something on perl every week or so, which I figure is a good motivation for me to write some more. You can check out the perl tag atom feed, or follow the links from and tag to get an atom feed if you want to syndicate my stuff or something.
The feature I’ve been pondering a while is a more bloglike type of page, for pages with lots of child pages, like Geekery or Cider Reviews. So I’ve implemented what I’m calling an archive, which presents the first few paragraphs of each post in a bloggish list. Check out Cider Archive or the Geekery Archive now to get an idea of how it looks. I’ll live with it for a while and see how happy I am with them, but let me know what you think in the comments.
The rest of the weekend I was hacking on Drupal. Which was occasionally frustrating. My aging perl code felt very friendly and simple after a few hours in a Drupal hole!
